ACAP Joins Comment Letter Urging Congress to Safeguard Children’s Health and Reject Cuts to Medicaid and CHIP
On March 28, ACAP joined the First Focus Campaign for Children in a letter urging Congress to reject cuts to Medicaid and CHIP. This effort was supported by a total of 342 organizations across the country.
The letter emphasizes that Medicaid and CHIP provide comprehensive health coverage to more than 37 million children, including preventive care, mental health services, and specialized treatments, particularly for vulnerable populations. It warns that proposed cuts would disproportionately harm rural and underserved communities, limiting access to care and forcing families to choose between health care and basic necessities.
The letter highlights that protecting these programs is essential to safeguarding children’s health and future well-being.
