ACAP Joins Sign-on Letter to CMS on Best Practices in State Rate Setting
On November 20, ACAP joined national and state health plan associations in submitting a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) highlighting the continued rates challenges facing health plans and asking the Centers to encourage more transparency and collaboration in states’ rate setting practices.
The statement was sent to CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, Deputy Director and Administrator for the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services Dan Tsai and Director and Chief Actuary Paul Spitalnic, of the Office of the Actuary.
It was issued by the Alliance of Community Health Plans, Association for Community Affiliated Plans, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Coalition of New York State Public Health Plans, Local Health Plans of California, Michigan Association of Health Plans, Minnesota Association of County Health Plans and Pennsylvania Medicaid Managed Care Organizations.
